The International festival for amateur and professional films «Arctic Cinema 2012»

Fri, Apr 13, 2012
In September 2012, the second International festival for amateur and professional films «Arctic Cinema 2012» is taking place in the city of Arkhangelsk, Russia.
It will be held on the campus of The Northern Arctic Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov (NARFU), and will involve Russian and international experts and film makers. The film festival will take place during the International scientifical conference «History of the discovery and mastering of the Arctic» (which also is arranged in the city of Arkhangelsk).

One of the goals of the festival is to unite professional television and film industry with amateur filmmakers in one creative sphere, and create conditions for bringing together cultural traditions from different countries in the Barents Euro-Arctic region, attract the attention of the global community towards the life and
work of people in the Arctic and subarctic territories.

We are planning to arrange a film contest including amateurs and professionals in three categories:

1. Social advertisement (a short advertisement of maximum 3 minutes, which faces the questions of preservation of the environment, culture studies, geopolitics and/or ecology)

2. Reporting (up to 20 minutes)

3. TV feature story or film (up to 26 minutes)

We invite you to take part in the festival «Arctic Cinema 2012». We are sure that holding this festival will help strengthening the international creative bonds between universities, and create a unique room for exchanging information.
