The Thematic Network in Arctic Engineering and Science (TN AES) focuses on development of sustainable technologies through engineering and science that improve the quality of life and allow for natural resource development in the north while preserving the environment.

The goal is to:

1. Improve the quality of life and allow the development of natural resources in the arctic through innovations in technologies used in the construction, maintenance and operation of infrastructure, housing, public/private facilities and equipment.

2. Assess the impact of climate change on technologies used in the construction, maintenance and operation of infrastructure, housing, public/private facilities and equipment.
