The program becomes more and more popular so the number of NArFU students taking BCS courses grows with every year. This year students from following NArFU’s institutes were enrolled to the program: Institute of Social, Humanitarian and Political Sciences, Institute of Natural Sciences and Biomedicine, Institute of Philology and Cross-Cultural Communication, Institute of Law, Institute of Pedagogics and Psychology and Forestry Engineering Institute.

New BCS students have already got acquainted with some of their teachers from the University of Nordland: Marit Sundet, Eivind Karlsen and Håkan Sandersen at the meeting they had at NArFU in May 2012. The teachers told about a new BCS program at UiN and explained how to use internet class Fronter. This semester new-enrolled BCS students have attended orientation meeting where they were told about the on-line educational system. The students felt excited about starting their studies. By the moment they have already received their first letters from teachers and some of them have even downloaded their first assignments.

There are 112 NArFU students doing BCS program this autumn semester. While some of them are finishing the program, others are just in the very start. All of them are eager to get new knowledge about the circumpolar region, about the region where they live and where they want to work as highly qualified specialists.
