The main goal of the workshop is an exchange of experience between the Pytroll developers and students, and PhD candidates, who share an interest in satellite data processing for weather forecasting. The invited lectures will be employees from the Swedish Meteorological Institute, German Weather Service, Swiss Hydrometeorological Service, University of Dundee (UK), Fraunhofer Institute (Germany). Specialists with knowledge in Linux and satellite data processing are invited to participate in the workshop.

There is no registration fee.

The deadline for application is 01 March 2017.

There will be three forms of participation:

1. Open lectures, March 27 from 9:00 to 12:20 - everyone is welcomed.
2. Master class for installing and configuring Pytroll package on27 March from 13:00 to 14:35 - pre-registration is required. A participant should have the following competencies: ability to work with satellite data processing, Linux and Python. You should bring your personal laptop.
3. Seminar from March 27 to April 2 - pre-registration is required. A participant should have the following competencies: ability to work with Pytroll package. You should bring your personal laptop.
