UArctic is organizing a joint workshop with the Nordic Council of Ministers for UArctic Nordic members on the role of Nordic funding instruments in funding Arctic activities in UArctic’s member institutions. This workshop is held in conjunction with the Arctic Frontiers Conference in Tromsø, Norway, on January 27, 2009. The host for the Workshop is the University of Tromsø.
The goal of the workshop is that UArctic members gain a better understanding of the opportunities offered by the Nordic Higher Education and Research funding instruments, and are advised on ways forward so that northern universities and colleges are more successful in funding applications to the NCM particularly on programs related to Arctic and northern activities.
UArctic members are invited to join in the discussion with leadership and representatives of the Nordic funding instruments and UArctic. The primary audience for the workshop is leadership responsible for research funding (prorectors, research liaison officers etc) at UArctic’s members (one per institution). In addition, all Nordic UArctic Thematic Network leads are invited to attend.
The workshop runs from 10.00 to 15:00 on January 27, 2009, and is held at the University of Tromsø. Participants are encouraged to also register for the Arctic Frontiers Conference; more information on the program and registration is available at:
