Please also check your passport before travelling to make sure it is valid long enough after the trip (for most countries 3-6 months).

Visa invitations

Travel to Monaco takes place through France, and you may need a Schengen visa. Should you need an invitation for your visa application, please contact secretariat@uarctic.org

UArctic Invitation Letter

If you require a formal visa invitation letter, one can be issued upon request.

To receive an invitation letter, please send an email to the UArctic International Secretariat secretariat@uarctic.org containing the following information:

  • Full name (as shown on your passport)
  • Citizenship
  • Name of institution or organization you represent
  • Position at the institution
  • Date of birth
  • Country of residence

Note: Invitation letters will only be sent to registered participants by e-mail as PDF attachments. Requests for an invitation letter must be made ASAP, as it can take some weeks for visa procedures to be settled.

Local transportation

There will be no organized transportation to or from the meeting venue (Oceanographic Museum of Monaco). Your hotel will be able to assist you in ordering a taxi, but both of the recommended hotels are within walking distance. The walk up to the Museum is also quite beautiful!
