KOPRI is a government-sponsored polar research institute of the Republic of Korea. While serving as the operator of national polar programs, KOPRI also advocates international cooperation in polar science and research.

Initiated in 2018, the KOPRI Arctic Science Fellowship Program aims to promote research collaboration in the Arctic and provide future generation scientists with networking and research opportunities.  The participants will be provided with a round-trip airfare, moderate living expenses, and accommodation within the KOPRI facilities.

The fellowship is open to early career scientists and scholars who are currently enrolled in a master or doctoral program or within 5 years of finishing their master or doctoral degree from either Canada, Denmark (Including Greenland and the Faroe Islands), Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the United States.
