The UArctic International Secretariat wishes a happy summer to our members, partners and friends across the North and the world! Our office will be closed July 4-26, 2015. The Shared Voices newsletter will not be published in July, but will return in August.

Organizers invite you to join The Alaskan Arctic: A Summit on Shipping and Ports, August 23-25, 2015, at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska. The purpose of the meeting is to build partnerships to develop safe and reliable shipping through the Alaskan Arctic.

NUNAMED 2016 conference will take place in Nuuk, Greenland on October 1-3, 2016. The conference is targeted for all researchers and health care persons with an active interest in Greenlandic Health Research. Deadline for submission of abstracts: August 15, 2016.

VIII All-Russian Festival "PR Days in Yakutia" was held In Yakutsk, Russia, June 18. Development of the Arctic became its main focus as it is one of the key regions in the global geopolitics




The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) seeks candidates for a PhD student position in meteorology to study air-cryosphere-sea interaction processes around Svalbard and in the Arctic. This is a four-year position and will be based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway. Application deadline: 15 July 2015.
