Overall Activities

  1. develop pilot projects with communities to show case the opportunities of AI and investigate where they work well and what ethical considerations have to be looked at.
  2. Facilitate staff and student exchanges to strengthen the research network.
  3. Organise joint meetings with indigenous communities to develop impactful projects that use AI to facilitate optimal, usable outcomes.
  4. Organise academic workshops to present ongoing research and to create a platform for connecting researchers on Arctic AI topics.
  5. Organise joint workshops to facilitate proposal writing and coordination to secure external funding.
  6. Create graduate and undergraduate education geared explicitly towards AI and the Arctic. This education is directed at students who want to conduct interdisciplinary research combining AI with other disciplines that are relevant to Arctic research. Based on each partner's strengths, they will contribute to specific topics. Students will be engaged to take part in this education across the partners. We intend to create standardised modules that students can use to earn credits for their studies.
