The Sustainable Arctic Network facilitates research-driven collaboration and responsible knowledge exchange to advance sustainability across the Arctic. The network is founded on the belief that Arctic universities are integral to the social, cultural, and environmental fabric of the North and must act as stewards of their environments and partners in Indigenous and community well-being.
By bringing together institutions at various stages of sustainability engagement, the Network develops place-based, context-specific strategies that strengthen climate resilience, reduce institutional carbon footprints, and support the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems and local community priorities into university governance, curricula, and research. Through this work, the Network contributes to strengthening Arctic research and education ecosystems grounded in relational and intergenerational responsibility.
