Arctic Basecamp Foundation

Arctic Basecamp Foundation is a non-profit organization that encourages bold climate action through its mission to ‘speak science to power.’ Through effective curation and communication of the latest Arctic science and data, we are committed to raising, supporting, and promoting global awareness of the worldwide risks associated with Arctic change, and enabling bold climate action. Scientific studies suggest that loss of snow and ice in the Arctic results in increased global risks of climate amplification, food and water insecurity, heat stress, sea level rise, migration, and supply chain disruption. Arctic Basecamp undertakes a range of activities to communicate these messages to key target audiences including the 2022 launch of a new digital tool called the Arctic Risk Platform for business and policy makers, and hosts flagship events alongside the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, at the Arctic Circle Assembly, and during UNFCCC’s COPs. Arctic Basecamp also has a Youth Climate Ambassador Program including early career scientists and youth climate campaigners. We are also developing low-cost observational sensors to help address gaps in data. Arctic Basecamp has a world-class scientific team who advise on the scientific curation and messaging, and a global advisory board. We are a member of the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action and a co-host of a new polar-themed WEF Hoffmann fellowship with Exeter University.
