The University of Windsor is a public research university located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada which began in 1857 as Assumption College, and was officially incorporated as a University in 1962. It is Canada's southernmost university, is located in Canada’s southernmost city enjoying some of the country’s best weather, and is geographically situated next to North America’s busiest international border crossing. This location speaks to UWindsor’s strength as an internationally oriented, multi-disciplined institution that actively enables a broad diversity of students, faculty, and staff to make a better world through education, scholarship, research and engagement. The University currently hosts 18,500 students, including close to 6,000 graduate students.
