Call for Abstracts: Sexual Health is Everyone’s Responsibility, February 12-14 2008

Inuit Women of Canada
Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada is seeking submissions for presentations to and participation in our upcoming conference, “Sexual Health is Everyone’s Responsibility”. This sexual health conference will explore the effects of the resource extraction industry on Inuit sexual health by bringing together researchers, front-line health promotion workers and industry stakeholders. The event takes place in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada on February 12, 13 and 14, 2008.
85,3320We invite workshop presenters to share their knowledge, skills and experience in supporting the cultural strengths of Inuit and exploring the vast resources of Industry partners in the following areas:
 
1. Research
2. Mental Health Issues related to Sexual Health
3. Prevention of STIs (Including HIV/AIDS and Hep C) approaches/best practices
4. Stigma/legal and human rights issues
5. Sexuality and gender issues and the workplace
6. Treatment, care and support of HIV/AIDS and other STIs
7. Resource extraction & development impacts on Sexual Health and mitigation strategies
8. Youth Empowerment
9. Culture in the face of economic prosperity
10. Social Determinants that impact Inuit Sexual Health
 
Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada welcomes abstract submissions for consideration as panel discussions, workshop presentations, cultural sharing and poster presentations.
