Student Opportunity: A program of study in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia)

Summer in SiberiaThe “Summer in Siberia” Russian language course is a wonderful opportunity to immerse international students in the multicultural society of Yakutia in North East Siberia for nine weeks. Witness the historic social and economic changes occurring in Russia as you develop language skills in a Russian speaking environment.
Yakutsk State University is located in Yakutsk, the capital and the largest city of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Yakutia has much in common with Alaska, Canada and other northern countries: vast, sparsely populated lands rich in unspoiled beauty, abundant wildlife, natural resources, and ethnic and cultural diversity. The city of Yakutsk is on the Lena River. Summer weather is warm (30 – 35 C or 70's and 80's F) and dry.

Each student takes different levels of Russian Language, Sakha Culture, History of Russia and Yakutia. The University Residence Hall is available for foreign students' accommodation.
