Yakutsk State University Organizes north2north Information Session

Anna_Ikonnikova_conference
On March 25, 2008 in Yakutsk State University (Yakutsk, Sakha Republic) there was conducted a conference-seminar of students who were on exchange with the north2north Student Mobility program offered by the University of the Arctic in the Fall 2007 term.

Anna_Ikonnikova_conferenceStudents who studied at universities and university colleges-UArctic members- in Norway (University of Tromso, Finnmark University college, University Center in Svalbard, Harstad University college) in Finland (University of Turku), in Sweden (Umeå University, Luleå University of Technology), in the USA (University of Alaska Fairbanks) gathered to tell about their academic and life experience and share their knowledge with potential N2N students and other interested students.

The students made presentations of their studies and life, answered various questions regarding academic courses, educational system, credit system at host institutions and distributed booklets and materials of host universities.

It is remarkable that this conference-seminar has become a student traditional event that is held annually and a good opportunity to disseminate Arctic knowledge, information on the University of the Arctic, its programs and possibilities. The conference was highlighted in the republic's mass media, and University website.
