The University of Turku organises an International Summer School in August 2009. The Summer School is aimed at university students, graduates, international scholars and experts in various fields, whether they are planning a short study visit or a permanent stay in Finland. The Programme offers an excellent introduction to the Finnish language, culture and way of life.

Teaching in the Summer School is subject to a fee. There are six different modules offered with some of them including accommodation. The language of instruction is English. The following courses are offered:

Traditions, Religion, Culture and Finnish Everyday Life (2 ECTS)
Finnish Society: Structures and Cultures (2 ECTS)
Aspect of Finnish Contemporary History (3 ECTS)
Beginners course 1 in Finnish language (3 ECTS)

Intensive teaching will be counterbalanced by interesting social activities. All students satisfactorily completing the programme will receive an Attendance Certificate and a Transcript of Records. All students will have access to the university computing and library services with no additional costs.
