The challenge for the near future is to make the Northern area attractive for graduating students so that they would stay in the area. In developing and making the North strong and attractive, the area needs labor, technology, innovations, capital and resources.
The long-term aim of “Strengthening the North” conference is to raise awareness of the possibilities of the Northern area. The short-term goal is to make connections and create networks between the existing companies and the future labor force.
The purpose of the Conference is to inspire students and make them see the northern area as a vivid and future economic power.
The main target group of the Conference is the students of Rovaniemi and Kemi-Tornio Universities of Applied Sciences and University of Lapland. The sub-target groups are existing companies in the area and students of University of Tromsø, University of Luleå and the State Technical University of Murmansk. The Conference is also available and open for all people in the region.
