The Institute of Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks seeks applications for a postdoctoral scientist to conduct modeling studies part of a project entitled "Identifying indicators of state change and forecasting future vulnerability in Alaskan boreal ecosystems." The position will be based in Fairbanks, Alaska.

UArctic-related activities can now be found in the IPY Education and Communication (EOC) Catalogue. The EOC Catalogue is based on survey responses from more than 200 IPY EOC activities and holds information on more than 500 education and outreach programs and activities.   

The University Centre in Svalbard is pleased to announce the 2011International Polar Year (IPY) Polar Field School. The field school will be held 20 June - 8 July 2011 in Svalbard, Norway.

From March 19 to March 25, 2011, 17 UArctic students convened for the Second UArctic Student Forum in Inari (March 19-22), Finland, and Kautokeino (March 22-25), Norway.

The Circumpolar Health Bibliographic Database (CHBD) describes 6,000 publications about all aspects of human health in the circumpolar region. The database is a project of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Team in Circumpolar Health Research and can be accessed here.

Anyone who worked on an International Polar Year (IPY) 2007-2008 projectis requested to report the project's publications to the IPY Publications Database (IPYPD). The IPYPD currently describes 4,600 publications and provides links to PDF filesof most of them
