Arctic Agriculture Conference Draws Researchers

Circumpolar Agricultural Conference & UArctic Inaugural Food Summit

Alaskan Public Media has presented an article and radio piece on the UArctic Thematic Network on Northern Food Security's conference, "Advancing Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in the Circumpolar North,” September 29 – Oct. 3, 2013, Girdwood, Alaska. This is a joint conference with the Circumpolar Agriculture Association and hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

A network of universities and research groups from nations bordering the Arctic Ocean have banded together to form the University of the Arctic, the North’s only circumpolar higher education institution. It’s researchers work to promote the welfare of indigenous peoples by finding local solutions to problems posed by a changing world.
