NEFU and University of Versailles to conduct sociological research on climate change

North-Eastern Federal University's Department of Northern Studies announced the recruitment of researchers-interviewers for participation in the international project of the federal university and the University of Versailles (France). The project will focus on the sociological study of the views of the republic residents on climate change.
"Social aspects of the climate change will be explored. The expedition route includes three settlements: the village Tekhtyur of Megino-Kangalassky region, village Kharbalakh of Tattinsky region, and village Megino-Aldan of Tomponsky region. A questionnaire is being planned for residents. The University of Versailles funds the project. The expedition is scheduled from 20 to 28 March 2014”, explains Lubov Semenova, the assistant of the Department of Northern Studies.

NEFU senior students, undergraduates, graduate students may participate in the contest speaking Russian and Yakut, ready for expedition to the regions beyond the river of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in March 2014.

Interviewers pass a three-day course of theoretical classes from 18 to 20 March before the expedition. Cedric Martin will hold a seminar for questionnaire participants.
