UArctic Student Ambassadors training at Arctic Frontiers in Tromsø
In October 2014 UArctic launched its Student Ambassador Program and appointed the first Ambassadors. The training of the first group will take place during a four-day workshop on January 17-20, held in conjunction with the 2015 Arctic Frontiers conference.
Arranged in collaboration with UiT The Arctic University of Norway and Arctic Frontiers, the UArctic Student Ambassadors workshop will include briefings on the UArctic network and its activities, and training sessions on communication and social media. In addition, the workshop will have an educational component, during which the students receive an overview of contemporary Arctic issues from leading experts in the UArctic network under the theme “Sustainable solutions for the Arctic.”
In preparation for the workshop, the Student Ambassadors have been given an assignment which will then be presented and discussed with Prince Albert II of Monaco. In addition, the Student Ambassadors will meet and discuss with government leaders from several Arctic countries.
