Council meeting begins in Buryatia

The Council of UArctic, made up of representatives of its members, begins its 18th meeting in the unique setting of Ulan Ude, Buryatia, Russian Federation. The meeting takes place from June 14-17, and is hosted by Buryat State University.
Over one hundred Council members and other participants will attended the meeting, with another two hundred participating in the joint education and research conference “Arctic Dialogue in the Global World." This is the first time that such a conference has been integrated directly into the program of a Council meeting.
Pre-meetings already take place on June 13, and many participants will have the chance to take part in an excursion to nearby Lake Baikal after the Council meeting's conclusion.
