Nordic Council of Ministers' funding for ecosystem services

Norden

The Nordic Council of Ministersworking group for environment and economy, together with the marine group and the terrestrial ecosystems group, invite proposals for projects on ecosystem services in the coastal zone of the Nordic countries. The deadline for this call is 20th August 2015.

Projects should investigate both the physical and biological importance and the value of current ecosystems, and what can potentially be achieved through improved management. Projects should also look into an economic valuation of these ecosystems. Potential ecosystems to be investigated are: blue mussel beds, kelp forests, eelgrass beds and Charophyceae beds.

Projects will provide an overview of the available information on the area, focusing on describing and specifying the benefits and value of ecosystem services in coastal areas through specific examples.

Project proposals may be written in a Scandinavian language or English.

The budget for the project is DKK450,000. Projects must be initiated in 2015 and the final report be delivered in 2016.
