Indigenous Youth Forum in Khabarovsk

August 7, 2015 the first Youth Forum of Indigenous Peoples of Nanai municipal district took place in the center of Nanai culture, Jari village, Khabarovsk Territory.

The event was attended by representatives of 5 national villages of the district, as well as representatives of the Khabarovsk regional youth social movement "Phoenix of the Amur."

There were various workshops at the Forum where the participants told about the history of their villages, intellectuals, national culture. Strict jury consisted of teachers of the native language, national culture specialists and evaluated the presentations of the youth.

After brief workshops summarizing, young people participated in a number of master classes on archery, throwing the nucleus, national embroidery, working with birch bark, national musical instruments, working with fish skin, playing the tambourine.
