Scientists of the Department of Nuclear Power Plants and Renewable Energy Sources of the Ural Federal University have developed a mobile power station that converts mechanical energy of sea waves into electricity.

The use of energy from sea and ocean waves is one of the promising areas for researchers dealing with renewable energy. Mobile power stations can also be a sound option for remote areas, devoid of centralized electrical networks.

According to the researchers from UrFU, the new station uses the energy of its own oscillating movements and can adapt to wave situation. In the long term, it can be used for the development of the Arctic regions.
