The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (nine-month annual support) at the assistant professor level in the Department of Fisheries. These permanent positions may be located in Fairbanks or Juneau, Alaska, with at least one position based in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The hiring committee particularly encourages submissions from individuals with expertise in quantitative ecology and population dynamics modelling, ecosystem-based fishery management and modelling, socio-cultural dimensions of fisheries, Indigenous fisheries and community-driven research, environmental physiology, and fisheries oceanography.

Qualified applicants must have a PhD in fisheries, biology, ecology, anthropology, or a closely related field. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Applicants must be proficient in English, have experience teaching at the university level, and have a strong research and publication record. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria are required.
