The UArctic Thematic Network on High Latitude Dust recognizes the importance of art-science collaboration and highlights the outcomes of dust-climate-related project.

The DUST FOREST exhibition at the Paper Arts Museum in London, UK, will open on 3 October 2025 at 6:00 PM. It is one of the first results of the collaboration between artist Dr. Emilia Telese and scientist Dr. Pavla Dagsson-Waldhauserová, with Icelandic dust taking center stage.

Dust Forest is a solo exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist Emilia Telese, featuring an immersive installation made with Icelandic dust and birch engravings that explores themes of belonging, transience, and the emotional resonance of soil through the fragile connection between glaciers, deserts, and forests. Pavla collected the dust during dust storms while conducting atmospheric measurements and explained the chronology of deserts, dust storms, glaciers, rainforests, and volcanic activity in Iceland’s geological history. Dust Forest explores the surprising link between deserts and forests in nature's chronology.

The Dust Forest exhibition continues with an Art & Science Talk on Saturday, 4 October 2025, at 6 PM on the Weston Roof Terrace, Royal Festival Hall, London. Join Emilia and Pavla as they share the journey of Icelandic dust through the lenses of art and science. Do not forget to register to claim your free tickets here!
