Get Involved: U.S. National Arctic Research Plan 2027–2031
The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC), chaired by the National Science Foundation, is seeking public input on national research needs in the Arctic to inform the next National Arctic Research Plan.
The public comment period is open now through November 15, 2025. Feedback may be submitted directly via the Federal Register Notice or by email to IARPCPlan@nsf.gov.
There will be a virtual information session on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 9:00–10:30 am AKT / 1:00–2:30 pm ET. Co-hosted by the IARPC Secretariat, the Navigating the New Arctic Community Office (NNA-CO), and the Arctic Research Consortium of the United States (ARCUS), this session will provide an overview of the National Arctic Research Plan, describe the process for updating the 2027–2031 plan, and offer guidance on submitting effective input. The session will include time for Q&A, and all are welcome. Your perspectives are critical in shaping the future of U.S. Arctic research priorities.
