Lilia Lundquist has begun work as the new American Arctic Connection intern for the winter of 2025.

Starting in September, Lilia is the American Arctic Connection Intern for the coming five months. This internship is made possible by the Finnish US Embassy, the University of Lapland and the UArctic International Secretariat. Lilia is from the United States, born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy from the University of Alaska. In her free time Lilia enjoys backcountry skiing, trail-running, and cooking. She also enjoys being able to travel, specifically around her home state, to see new and remote communities.

Growing up in Alaska has given her a deep appreciation for northern communities, environmental stewardship and the importance of progressive Arctic policy. Lilia is eager for the opportunity to get hands on experience, expand her knowledge and meet others from cultures outside her own.

For the duration of her internship, Lilia will be assisting with event coordination for upcoming events, helping to keep the UArctic social media presence alive, and contributing to the development of the new Shared Voices magazine set for 2026.
