PhD position available: Indigenous health at Nord University

At Nord University, Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, there is a temporary position available for a PhD fellow in professional science, focusing on the development of culturally adapted digital health solutions for older adults from Indigenous communities in the Nordic countries. The position is full-time for three years. A start date as soon as possible is desirable.
The PhD project is part of the research project “Promoting Healthy Aging of Sámi and Inuit Elders Through Co-Designed Digital Health Tool”, funded by NordForsk. As a PhD fellow, you will become part of an experienced and international research team from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Greenland.
The goal of the project is to promote sustainable health and well-being among the elderly in the Sámi and Inuit populations in Norway, Sweden, and Greenland through the development of culturally adapted digital health solutions. The project is based on an iterative co-design process in close collaboration with Indigenous communities and an international, multidisciplinary Nordic research team. The PhD fellow will have a central role in conducting research related to the health status, self-management, cultural resources, and digital self-care and prevention tools for Indigenous elders. The project employs both quantitative and qualitative methods and utilizes models for user-centered design and innovation.
