Call for Submissions: PEOPLE 2026 International Virtual Conference — Connecting Young Professionals and Early-Career Researchers to Advance Environmental Solutions in Polar and Cold Regions

The Network on the Persistent, Emerging, and Organic Pollution in the Environment (PEOPLE) invites students, postdoctoral fellows, young professionals (YPs), early-career researchers (ECRs), and established experts to submit abstracts and participate in the PEOPLE 2026 International Virtual Conference, co-hosted with the 2026 Atlantic Symposium of the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ).

Under the theme “Our Environment at Risk in Polar and Cold Regions: From Emerging Contamination to Collective Solutions under Climate Change,” the conference will explore emerging environmental contaminants, cryosphere–climate interactions, innovative analytical techniques, Indigenous knowledge, and environmental governance.

Led by UArctic Chair, Dr. Bing Chen, UArctic Research Chair, Director of the PEOPLE Network, and Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Network promotes interdisciplinary research, training, and collaboration to address environmental challenges.

PEOPLE 2026 is fully organized by young professionals, guided by the Advisory Committee of experienced researchers and experts. It offers opportunities to present research, exchange ideas with experienced experts, build professional networks, and develop international collaborations. Participants at all career stages are welcome.
