New intern has joined the UArctic International Secretariat
Aurora Alamani is the new intern at the UArctic International Secretariat based at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland. She will be a part of the office for five months ending her internship in June 2026.
Aurora recently completed a master’s degree in Cultural Sociology at the University of Southern Denmark, where she developed a strong interest for the Nordic and Arctic regions. She is particularly interested in the local and regional impact of sustainability practices and programs, and she is eager to continue learning how different initiatives are reflected across northern communities.
Her previous experience at the UArctic Thematic Networks Office based at University of Oulu has given her solid familiarity with UArctic and further strengthened her interest in its work. She is excited to continue contributing to the network and she is happy to remain in Finnish Lapland!
During her time at the office, she will contribute to communication and outreach activities across a range of projects and initiatives. She will also support the communications team in preparation for the UArctic Congress 2026.
The traineeship is the result of the collaboration between UArctic and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, which funds the internship program.
