The Government of Iceland invites experts and stakeholders to participate in Atlantic Plastics 2026 – Third International Symposium on Marine Plastic Pollution: Arctic to the Antarctic, taking place 20–22 October 2026 at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavík.

Atlantic Plastics 2026 will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and practitioners to examine marine plastic pollution across the Atlantic and connected Arctic waters. The symposium will address the full spectrum of plastic contamination—from macro-debris to micro- and nanoplastics.

By fostering cross-sector dialogue, the event aims to support the development of effective strategies and strengthen the science–policy interface.

Abstracts are invited under the following themes:

  • Monitoring and assessment across multi-scales
  • Modelling sources, pathways, and fate
  • Impacts of plastic pollution
  • Circular economy and industry solutions
  • Mitigation, management, and restoration
  • Science–policy interface and capacity building

Contributions may be submitted for platform and poster presentations.

The abstract submission deadline is 31 March 2026.

Additional information on registration and abstract submissions is available on the Atlantic Plastics website.
