UArctic x LRF Fellows: Arctic-focused contributions to the Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 in Glasgow
UArctic x LRF Research Fellow Dr Bahareh Kamranzad contributed to sessions on ocean resilience and engaged with international partners on emerging challenges in Arctic shipping.
The bi-annual Ocean Science Meeting (OSM) was held in Glasgow 22-27. February 2026. The OSM is a unique gathering designed to foster connection and collaboration among researchers and solution scientists in the greater ocean-connected community.
Arctic-focused contributions included two oral sessions and one poster session. UArctic x LRF Research Fellow Dr Bahareh Kamranzad co-organised a session on “Resilience in a Changing Ocean: Bridging Nature-Based Approaches, Conservation Science, and Maritime Governance” in collaboration with Umeå University, Sweden and University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr Kamranza also had the opportunity to discuss emerging challenges in Arctic shipping with colleagues at Opportunity Green, UK, and Danish Meteorological Institute.
