International Graduate Student Research Cohort and COIL@UArctic join forces at the UArctic Congress 2026 in Tórshavn
What happens when graduate students from across the Arctic and North Atlantic spend a year working together across disciplines, borders and time zones?
Join the COIL@UArctic Thematic Network at the UArctic Congress 2026 on May 26, 2026 at Risastova, Við Tjarnir at 12:40, at the session Catalysing Sustainable Futures: Tracing the Journeys of the International Graduate Student Research Cohort in Interdisciplinarity and International Cooperation to find out.
More information about the session and our speakers is here.
Drawing on experiences from the International Graduate Student Research Cohort (IGSRC), we explore how interdisciplinary, international collaboration influences research practice, career choices and understanding of sustainability in the Arctic and North Atlantic. The focus of the discussion is on lived experience, unexpected outcomes and what this model of cooperation makes possible for students and faculty alike.
The session is relevant for students and educators, and anyone working with interdisciplinary education, international networks or sustainable development in northern contexts.
