New intern from India joins the UArctic International Secretariat in Rovaniemi
This fall the UArctic International Secretariat in Rovaniemi welcomes Varsha Sista as its first-ever intern from India.
Varsha has joined the UArctic International Secretariat as an Erasmus+ trainee for the fall term of 2026.
Originally from Hyderabad and raised in Delhi, Varsha holds a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Delhi and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Climate Change at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her academic interests lie in how vulnerable communities adapt to the ongoing climate crisis and the role social media can play in capturing and preserving their stories.
Alongside her research interests, Varsha has a keen interest in travelling and photography, often using her camera to document the landscapes and communities she encounters along the way.
During this traineeship, she will be working closely with the Secretariat team, contributing to the organization's ongoing work and collaborations across its member networks.
Varsha is looking forward to working at the UArctic International Secretariat and learning more about Arctic cooperation. She is also excited to experience the fall and winter in Lapland for the first time, and hopes to explore the region's cultural events and capture the landscapes through her camera.
