The UArctic Congress 2026 takes place from May 26 to 29, 2026 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.

The UArctic Congress includes the 2026 meeting of the UArctic Assembly (on May 29) and the UArctic Rectors' Forum (on May 27), as well as networking and social events. It is therefore an excellent platform for all UArctic members to engage with each other, establish new connections, and promote cooperation in circumpolar research and higher education.
The UArctic Assembly 2026 will take place on May 29 at Kongshøll, located in Sjóvinnuhúsið by the harbour in central Tórshavn.
The meeting will run from 9:00 until 17:00; a rough schedule for the day can be viewed here. The meeting materials (agenda and reference documents) will be shared via email with all Assembly representatives and those registered for the meeting by April 29.
The UArctic Congress is a biennial event that brings together a science conference and key UArctic meetings into a single gathering.
With the aim to foster contacts and enhance networking, the UArctic Congress welcomes institutional leaders, Indigenous representatives, academics, scientists, and students from around the Circumpolar North and beyond. Together with partners, policy makers, and other actors, the Congress strives to take the Arctic agenda forward by creating and strengthening collaborations that produce new findings and solutions for the future of the Arctic region.
The UArctic Congress 2026 takes place from May 26 to 29, 2026 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. The event is hosted by the University of the Faroe Islands, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fisheries and the Faroe Marine Research Institute.
As a unique feature, the UArctic Congress 2026 also incorporates the Ocean Connectivity Conference, an international ocean conference dedicated to Sub Arctic and High Arctic connectivity. The Ocean Connectivity Conference is organized by the Kingdom of Denmark's Chairship of the Arctic Council in partnership with UArctic and the University of the Faroe Islands, and it is part of the official Chairship program of the Kingdom of Denmark (2025-2027).
