Tytti Bräysy studied jewellery making in Sámi Education Institute, and embarked on two exchanges to learn new skills: one to Nunavut Arctic College and the other to Taimyr College.
Marjolaine Roux made lasting friendships while enjoying the great outdoors and the landscapes of Norway.
Andrian Vlakhov did his field research in Svalbard and gained new knowledge for his PhD thesis through a two-month stay at the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland.
Sandrine Papageorges went on an exchange to Sweden with snowshoes and winter camping gear, and returned to Canada with new ideas and perspectives.
Pirta Päkkilä decided to pursue her new interest in Arctic issues by applying for a semester in Saskatoon, Canada, which turned out to help her professionally as well.
Tiina Takala had to go far to see close – all the way to Korea for a week-long summer program to begin to understand about the possibilities and also about the vulnerability of the Arctic.
Kristin Weis moved to Iceland's Westfjords to study humanity's use and conservation of coastal and marine environments, a topic she sees undervalued in international policy.
Chloé Potier didn't expect to find herself in Greenland, but soon found out that along with adventures it offered valuable lessons on engineering in cold climates.
