The focus of the Arctic Food Transitions network is the role of food in the Arctic and on how a sustainable, healthy and just transition could be implemented in the food system.
The goal of the network is to address the neglected issue of an unsustainable food system in need of transition, including a dietary shift, and new business models, concepts or imaginaries. As results the network aims to produce evidence supporting policy action and providing support for directing public funding to food research in the Arctic. Such a shift would be the result of a participatory process and might underscore bringing locally and regionally relevant sources of food to the table.
