"Philology and Cross - Cultural Communication" Conference Held at the End of September

The Faculty of Foreign Languages of Yakutsk State University within the framework of Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation projects and the University of the Arctic Thematic Network “World Image of Indigenous Peoples of the North” are organizing the international scientific conference “The Problems of Philology and Cross - Cultural Communication in the Present” on September 27-30, 2007.
The conference includes a variety of sessions on the problems of cross-cultural communication and translation, such as language consciousness and linguistics and cultural national world images and content and methods of teaching foreign languages at school and higher education institution and the problems of multi-lingualism. A workshop on psycholinguistics and the problems of the study of language consciousness has also been organized. 
Participants of the plenary sessions include Professor Svetlana Grigorievna Ter-Minasova, Dean, of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov, as well as other experts from different Russian institutions. The working languages of the conference are Russian, English, German and French.
