These scholarships are available to individual artists or creative companies from the Arctic or any northern territory, including Alaska, the Canadian sub-Arctic, et cetera. Please do not hesitate to reach out regardless of your location - we are most interested in stories, techniques, and inspiration.

The Arctic Encounter will offer exhibit booths free of charge to applicants pursuing the 2023 Arctic Encounter Artist-Designer Scholarship. The venue will permit artists and creators to sell all artwork or textiles so long as nothing is consumable. The Arctic Encounter scholarship allows for 100% of proceeds to remain with the artist.

Past artist scholarship participants and sales were represented by a diverse group of creators, including painters, photographers, clothing designers and expert seamstresses, jewelry designers, kayak builders, wood carvers, performers and musicians, expert ivory carvers, and more.

Please note that exhibit space is limited, and scholarships will be granted on a rolling basis based on the diversity of exhibitors and representation of Arctic states and northern regions.
