UArctic Chair Professor Kamrul Hossain elected to the IASSA Council
The UArctic Chair in Arctic Legal Research and Education, and lead of the Thematic Network on Arctic Law, Prof. Kamrul Hossain from the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, has been elected to the Council as a member for the next three years, from 2024-2027.
On June 2, 2024, the General Assembly of the International Arctic Social Science Association (IASSA), held in Bodo, Norway, announced its new Council. The Council consists of seven members and the President, who serves for a three-year period. The Council is the executive body of IASSA that facilitates its work and takes appropriate actions following the decisions of the General Assembly. One crucial responsibility of the Council is to organize the International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences on behalf of IASSA and the General Assembly in collaboration with the local organizing committee.
