Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge 2026: A call to mobilize students around business concepts
Since applications opened on December 5th, the challenge has already seen a strong and encouraging level of interest, with many projects submitted, particularly from startup profiles.
For the 2026 edition, however, the organizers would like to place a stronger emphasis on the Business Concepts category, which lies at the core of the MOPC’s mission and DNA.
This category is primarily designed for:
- students (Bachelor, Master, PhD),
- recent graduates,
- profiles coming from research, engineering, design, economics, environmental sciences,
- carrying a structured and innovative idea, but not yet incorporated as a startup.
Key dates for students:
- Application deadline: February 13th, 2026
- Finalists announcement: April 2026
- Grand Finale in Monaco: June 11th, 2026
All practical information (eligibility criteria, categories, required documents) is available here: https://monaco-opc.com
Business Concepts allow candidates to:
- test and refine an idea with high potential in a demanding yet supportive framework,
- receive feedback from international experts (science, innovation, impact, investment),
- gain credibility and visibility,
- and, for finalist teams, be invited to Monaco for the Grand Finale (travel & accommodation covered).
For many participants, the MOPC represents a first decisive step before launching a startup, a research-based initiative, or an applied innovation project.
