Webinar: Gender-equal and sustainable working life in northern Sweden
How do we create an equal and sustainable working life in northern Sweden? Digital launch 10 March at 10:00 – 12:00 CE.
The report Gender-equal social transition? Gender perspectives on sustainable working life in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Jämtland will be released soon. On 10 March, researchers and social actors are welcome to participate in an online seminar on the future of gender-equal and sustainable working life.
On behalf of Sweden's four northernmost county administrative boards, the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg has produced a knowledge overview on how gender equality can be promoted in a time of extensive social change. The report shows how social norms, geographical factors and labour market structures in the counties of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Jämtland affect women's and men's opportunities to have a sustainable working life. By analysing (in)equality in the labour market, skills supply and work-life balance, the report provides concrete insights for an inclusive and sustainable working life in northern Sweden.
The launch webinar is aimed at decision-makers, senior officials and those in leadership roles in municipalities, regions, government agencies, civil society and the private sector. It is also aimed at those who work with gender equality issues, for example as coordinators, business developers, process leaders, strategists or development managers. The seminar is organised by the Västerbotten County Delegation for Gender Equality in collaboration with the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research and the county administrative boards of Norrbotten, Västernorrland and Jämtland.
The webinar will be held in Swedish. Read more and register here (in Swedish): https://www.lansstyrelsen.se/vasterbotten/om-oss/kalender/kalenderhandelser---vasterbotten/2026-03-10-jamstalld-samhallsomvandling.html
