Uarctic Congress 2026 Web Banner

The University of the Arctic is inviting early-career researchers (within 5 years of the PhD award. Postdocs are also invited to apply) from UArctic member institutions in the Nordic countries, whose abstracts will be presented during the UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference, to apply for funding support to travel to the UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference

The UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference will be held in Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands between 26 and 29 May 2026. Indigenous applicants from UArctic member institutions will be prioritized in the allocation of the grants if we receive more applications than available grants. These grants, which are funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, will be allocated according to the conditions that they have established.

The early career researchers and Postdocs from the UArctic member institutions in the Nordic countries who have accepted abstracts are eligible to apply for funding to cover their travel (up to a maximum fixed sum, see table below), accommodation and registration costs for their active participation at the UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference.
