Scottish Arctic Conference and ScAN Annual Meeting in St Andrews
The Scottish Arctic Network (ScAN), a UArctic regional center, is hosting the Scottish Arctic Conference and ScAN annual meeting this week at the University of St Andrews.
The Scottish Arctic Conference and Scottish Arctic Network Annual Meeting will be hosted at University of St Andrews from 5-6 March. The event brings together researchers, teachers, professional staff and students interested in the future of the Arctic. Over two days, the event offers the opportunity to find out more about Arctic-related opportunities and discuss ongoing work by ScAN, Scottish Government and UArctic.
The Scottish Arctic Network Annual Meeting on Friday 6 March will be held in hybrid mode. All other events will be held in person. The event is supported by the Scottish Government and the UArctic Network. It will be hosted at the University of St Andrews, at its town centre locations.

12:00-12:15 Welcome to the Scottish Arctic Conference
12:15-13:00 Scottish Government Policy Framework. A review of the Scottish Government’s Arctic Connections Policy Framework, and a look towards future international policy. With Lauren Johnstone.
13:00-13:45 Lunch
13:45-14:45 Engaging with UArctic Thematic Networks
15:00-17:00 Thematic Areas Research Showcase, discussing Climate, Water, Sustainability and Energy; Community and Culture; and Security, Law and Justice.
17:00-18:00 Free time.
18:00-18:40 Drinks at Central Bar, Market Street.
18:45 – 21:00 Conference Dinner in Lower College Hall, St Salvator’s Quad, North Street. Dinner will be served at 19:05. The dress code is business casual.
Friday 6 March
Participants may be interested in the St Andrews International Women’s Day Dook. A bracing start to day 2 of the conference, in support of Fife Women’s Aid.
