Shahnaj Begum organises TAIMI Research Seminar in Rovaniemi on 23–24 April

Shahnaj Begum

Dr Shahnaj Begum is organizing a  seminar in Rovaniemi as part of the TAIMI project’s WP3 "Multiplicity of Cultures of Care and IT" (PI: Markku Sippola & Researcher Shahnaj Begum & Wanying Yan).

The event will bring together researchers from the TAIMI and NodeWork projects and contribute to the UArctic Thematic Network Ageing and Gender in the Arctic, strengthening collaboration across universities and disciplines.

Dr Begum’s research connects capability theory and intersectionality to explore diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and skill alignment in the care sector. The TAIMI project, funded by the Research Council of Finland, develops research-based solutions to strengthen work-life skills, improve skill recognition and promote equality and inclusion in Finnish working life. The project also explores how AI-based tools can support fair recruitment and multicultural teamwork across sectors such as care, IT, transport and industry.

The seminar will deepen collaboration on migration, labour markets and multicultural workplaces, and includes a research visit to Rovalan Setlementti’s care services in Rovaniemi.
