The Inuit Crafters Panel is the first of three upcoming webinars emerging from the Network’s
ongoing research into Indigenous crafting practices as sites of pedagogical innovation, relational
inquiry, and educational renewal across Arctic and Subarctic contexts. The research is funded by Global Affairs' Global Arctic Leadership Initiative, Canada.
This first panel will feature the lived experiences and knowledges of four Inuit crafters and
educators, Ola Andersen, Heather Angnatok, Rebecca Mearns, and Roxanne Nochasak, who will
share visual documentations of their work, reflect on crafting as knowledge sharing, and discuss
emerging theoretical contributions that position Ilusivut (arts and crafts) as pedagogical pathways
for strengthening Indigenous education across the Circumpolar North. Dr. Sylvia Moore will
chair the session.
