The aim of the UArctic Thematic Network on Solid Waste Management in the Arctic is to promote transdisciplinary and collaborative research, information sharing, teaching, and the exchange of ideas to achieve sustainable solid waste management in the Arctic.
The goal of the network is to foster learning, action, and collaboration with communities, organizations, and institutions in the Arctic about solid waste management issues. A distinctive characteristic of this thematic network is that it works with communities – small to large – in its work and is attentive to Indigenous ways of managing solid waste in the Arctic.
