Tampere University

Tampere University is the second largest university in Finland, established in the beginning of 2019. The university is primarily a research university, ranging from specialist subjects like game studies to tumour genetics. There are three separate campuses, each with their own specialty.

We are situated in the vibrant city of Tampere, Finland's most sought-after city to live and study in, and a region renowned for four beautiful seasons, pristine nature and thousands of lakes. Here, in the Sauna Capital of the World, you will find over 30 public saunas in the region for anyone to relax in, throughout the year, and the world's only Moomin Museum is located right next to the city centre campus.

At Tampere University you are given a lot of freedom to plan and carry out your studies. You can, for example, include a few courses from various study fields, campuses and even other higher education institutions, which allows you to adapt your studies to your needs and expand your knowledge. From our course list you can find a lot of self-study courses that can be completed at any time or traditional lectures that are organised during our four different teaching periods.
